I went with my 12yr old son for a "fun father son dinner". We were seated right away. The staff was very friendly. Shawnee was our server and she did a wonderful job of checking in with us, making recommendations, and being friendly. I do think there was something happening in the back of house because there were a few items that we had to ask for a second time (ranch, biscuits type things) because it didn't come out with the meal but she jumped on top of it right away and would bring it out with a smile.
My son ordered the brisket, pulled pork, and Tri-tip with French fries. He enjoyed it for the most part. The brisket & Tri-tip was on the dry side.

I love Lucille’s BBQ-it’s never disappointed until today. First I want to say this review had nothing to do with the server/service. That was great and our server was very attentive. We went during lunchtime and we all left extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with our meal. We ordered the BBQ combo and a side of tri-tip and everything from the Mac n cheese to the mashed potatoes, to the meats and even the fries was all barely luke warm. I personally don’t like to be that person to send back food but I had to send back the Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I was actually too embarrassed to send back everything. I know that’s my own fault for not doing so. My son ended up not even really eating. It’s almost as if all the food had been cooked earlier and left out. It was overall a bad meal. Sorry.
If you don't mind paying a premium for Southern-style BBQ from a restaurant chain, Lucille's is a fun and satisfying destination.
The Locale:
Located right off the 57 Freeway on Imperial Highway, this Lucille's is clean with an enjoyable aesthetic. It's made to look like a mid-20th century smokehouse.
The Service:
The entire wait staff is friendly and competent, but our server, Erika, was exceptional. She made excellent recommendations, was quick to respond, and brought what we needed even before we asked for it. I can't compliment her enough.
The Food:
My dad and I shared the Feast for Two package in which you pick an appetizer, entree, and dessert from a set menu. We chose fried onion strings for the starter, pork belly, sausage, and baby back ribs for the main course, and chocolate cake for the dessert.

But Jesus, that was the worst barbecue I have ever had. Dry, tough, flavorless. I didn’t even like the flavor of the sauce.
I know I have high standards as a Kansas Citian, but SoCal, you can do better than THIS.
Atmosphere, building and service were nice. Food was a 3 of 5 at best. Nothing special about this BBQ and if you've ever eaten barbecue in Texas, Florida, Tennessee, or St. Louis you would probably give this a 2 of 5. Below average. My review would nearly be a 1 star for price. Prices are outrageous. $100 bill for two with ordering standard meals and no alcohol. Look elsewhere.
