We were so glad we decided to try De Oro La Puerta! Everything we ordered tasted fresh, authentic, and made with care.
The highlight of our meal was definitely the molcajete. It came out piping hot in a volcanic stone bowl filled with grilled meats, shrimp, and a flavorful sauce that brought everything together. It was generous in portion and easily enough to share.
The Mojarra Frita was another favorite. The fish was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and served in a huge portion. We also really enjoyed the albóndigas soup—it was rich, hearty, and incredibly comforting, with a homemade flavor that really stood out.
The portions were generous, the food was full of authentic flavors, and the service made us feel right at home. Diana was awesome! We would definitely come back and recommend this spot to anyone looking for great Mexican food in the Brea area.
Absolutely loved this place! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive. The atmosphere felt magical and relaxing — the hanging greenery, warm lights, and cozy vibe made it feel like a hidden little escape.
The food was delicious from start to finish. The tacos were flavorful, the taquitos were crispy and satisfying, and even the chips and salsa were amazing. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The dessert was such a sweet touch and made the experience even more memorable.

Had a great meal here after seeing it on Yelp. It’s tucked away in a small plaza in Brea, and the place is adorned with flower decorations.
The food was great. Had the choriqueso which was pretty rich and salty and great with the jalapenos and a squeeze of lime to cut through. Also got the molcajete that was amazing. Cactus, carne asada, chicken, chorizo, shrimp, queso fresco, and onions all sit in the molcajete filled with a tomato sauce. So much flavor and can easily feed 3 people. Had all of this with their house-made corn tortillas that were an absolute masterpiece. Also had their caldo de albondigas which was far more subtle than the molcajete but very good and their margarita which was very balanced and refreshing.

I tried this place for the first time today. I walked in, it had a pretty nice authentic Mexican vibe, it was alot bigger than I thought. I've been in the mood for some chilaquiles and based on the pictures I thought I'd give it a try. As always, I judge Mexican restaurants on the chips. If they care about having good chips, they more than likely care about having great quality food. Unfortunately the chips were stale. I tried a few just to make sure and they were all pretty stale. The chilaquiles had good flavor, I like mine on the crisper side, these weren't very crispy but it could be because I took them to go. My son had the breakfast burrito, he said it was good. We also got the breakfast potatoes, they were not good at all. I got both of the items pictured for $45. Honestly, a bit too expensive for me. They had good portions but I can't justify $45. The rest of the menu looked real
This place is cute! Had lunch with my dad here twice, did not disappoint! I got the fajitas & chicken mole. The fajitas was a large portion enough for me to have leftover for a 2nd meal. The chicken mole was a lot of chicken I did bring some home. I placed an additional order of tortillas to bring home with my leftovers. This place is delicious. Highly recommend. Fun, cute atmosphere 🥰.
